For spring break this year I was lucky enough to travel down to Arizona and the Grand Canyon. Me and five other friends hiked into the canyon and camped there for three days. We hiked down to the Havasupai Indian Reservation and stayed in the campground they have about two miles past the village, a total of ten miles from our starting point. One of the great things about the Havasupai Village is the amazing waterfalls that surround the area. There are a total of 5 different Falls down there: The "New" Navajo Falls, Rock Falls, Havasu Falls, Mooney Falls, and Beaver Falls. The river that goes through these falls dumps into the Colorado River. Unfortunately, in 2008 there was a flash flood that changed the landscape of all of the falls and even created and destroyed some falls. "It is natural for the falls to change over time, as evidenced by the ancient crests lining Havasu and Mooney falls. The pools will regain their previous shapes, as the process repeats itself as it has been doing for millennia," according to havasupaitribe.com. It was a great experience that I think everyone should experience.
