Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, Queensland

Just the name of it makes it sound like the most wonderful place in the world. You probably picture something like this:

Yeah, thats what I was expecting too.

For mid-semester break, Elyse, Javi, and I decided to go spend some time in the Gold Coast. We had originally planned to go to Christchurch, NZ but then an earthquake happened a week before we were supposed to leave so we changed plans. We just needed to get away for a couple of days and just relax. Probably due to my terrible luck, it rained pretty much the entire time we were there. Although it wasn't warm enough to play in the ocean or wear shorts for that matter, we still had a good time. We shopped all day and hung out at night. We also drank lots of really good coffee (thanks to the wonderful coffee shop right next to the hotel).

It was a much needed break that couldn't have come at a better time. With only 4 weeks left of class until finals I'm finally more than half way done with my program. I come home 2 months from tomorrow. That just blows my mind! Because although I feel like I've been here forever, I still can't believe its close to being over. Better enjoy it while it lasts.

if only the rain would stop....
