Now, many of you may not know this, but Jello is called "jelly" in Australia. I thought it was weird to call it that... Jello is just so much cooler... But whatever. I never realized how important it was that I called it jelly until the other day. I was hanging out at my friend Aria's place and we were planning what food to bring on our trip over the weekend. As an inside joke between me and Javi, I said I would bring peanut butter and jelly. Aria freaked out. He kept saying how he will never understand how us americans love that stuff and how I've been eating it everyday since I've been here. I tried telling him how good it is and if he'd just try it... But then, trying to dissuade me from bringing it, he asked if I would have to make the jelly beforehand. We all looked at him like he was crazy. Jelly comes in a jar that you keep in the fridge. Then the light went on in everyone's head at the same time. For 23 years, every time Aria heard of someone eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, he thought they were eating a peanut butter and JELLO sandwich. Disgusting! It was so funny! I'm glad I could clear it up for him. And assure him that peanut butter and JAM is amazing!
