coffee. tea. chocolate.
Now I may not be the biggest fan of tea, but give me the other two and I'm bound to have a good day. And that is just what I did.
Sunday morning Javi and I headed into the city to spend the day drinking coffee, listening to music, and just getting out of Campbelltown. It was a GREAT day. We met up with my American friends and his Spanish friends and actually lost each other in the crowd. So me and the other Americans had ourselves a wonderful time. We started off by getting a $2 cup of coffee, which is an amazing price for coffee here. Then we headed over to the camel rides. Yes, you read that right.
CAMEL RIDES.
Not many people can say that they rode a camel around the boardwalk around the Sydney Harbor. Well I can! And I know what you're thinking, "What they hell docamels have to do with Sydney, Australia or an Aroma Festival?" Well I don't know either. All I know is that it was fun! and only $5! So I just couldn't pass it up!
Also, I got to experience my first real sweet of Australia while at the festival. They just don't have sweet shops here like we have in the States. But I had a $4 cupcake. It was worth every penny.
It was unlike any cupcake I've ever had. The cake was so dense that I almost couldn't finish it. And the buttercream was so sweet that I almost couldn't finish that either. Now, of course I say almost for both of those because, for those of you how know me really well, know that there is no way I'm not going to finish a cupcake. That is just not something I would feel right about doing. Now I have to keep my eyes open for the next wonderful sweet I'll get to experience here.
We ended the night at a restaurant around the bay and then headed home to get ready for the first day of school on Monday. It was a perfect way to spend the last day of winter break.
I actually was feeling really homesick and sad up until I went to the festival. But once I spent some time with other Americans and in a wonderful city, I finally realized what this country has to offer me. And I'm really excited to see what happens in the next few weeks.
